There are many places to eat in the local area from basic pub food to a la carte restaurants. The following are a few of our favorites within an easy walk or drive.

The Elephant's Nest Inn

This traditional country pub is 1 mile up the lane opposite the house. Great food and lovely views over Dartmoor from the garden. Make sure you book for weekends!

The Peter Tavy Inn You can walk or drive to this 15th Century pub from the house. This inn is recommended in numerous guides. Good food so booking is essential for weekends.

Christophers Restaurant Very nice restaurant in Tavistock. A la carte menu but on Tuesday evenings there is a set menu - great value. Once again you will need to book for weekends.

Bearslake Inn This is a 13th Century thatched pub and restaurant about 8 miles away on the A386 in Sourton. Very friendly and a great place for lunch or dinner - worth the drive.
